EAGE GeoQuiz

The GeoQuiz session will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Brazilian time).

About EAGE:

EAGE is a professional not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers, founded in 1951. Its mission is to promote the development and application of geosciences and related engineering subjects, as well as innovation and technical progress.

The EAGE GeoQuiz:

Each year, an Online Geo Quiz is held in several regions (Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East). The winning teams of these regional competitions receive fee waivers to attend the EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, with the opportunity to participate in the EAGE Global GeoQuiz.

EAGE is a truly multidisciplinary association, and this is reflected in the EAGE GeoQuiz. The quiz consists of several rounds with questions related to different fields in the geoscience industry. Topics include petroleum geoscience, geology, geophysics, petrophysics, drilling, and energy transition, among others. The questions vary in difficulty, becoming more challenging as the quiz progresses. The best way to compete is with a multidisciplinary team of students.

Team Composition: Each team consists of 1 to 3 students.

Quiz Format: The questions will be shown on a screen, and teams will answer under time pressure.

Prizes:

In addition to bragging rights, a great prize awaits the EAGE Online Geo Quiz winning team. They will receive full registration fee waivers for the 85th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, being held from 2 – 6 June in Toulouse, France. There, the team will participate in the EAGE Global GeoQuiz and compete against students from all over the world.
