CLARA VASCONCELOS
Clara Vasconcelos is an associate professor with habilitation at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR). Within this centre, she coordinates the "SEI- Social and Educational Innovation" group and research team and engages in various educational pursuits. Her academic journey began with a degree in geology, specialising in education (professionalisation in teaching biology and geology), from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She furthered her education with a Master's degree in Education and earned a PhD in Education with a specialisation in Psychology from Minho University. Her Habilitation specialisation was in Science Education. Clara's primary focus lies in teaching methodologies, particularly in the realm of Problem-based Learning, which she studied at Wake Forest University in South Carolina, USA. Her research and teaching endeavours primarily revolve around the fields of bio and geosciences education, environmental education, and science communication.
